Q: What do you get if you combine advertising with taxi CCTV?

A: CabTure

At CabTure we make security a priority and we only ever use vehicles fitted with CCTV for advertising.

Why? because of our history.

History

Robert Ives setup CabTure in May 2010 at the age of 27, his father (Ken) has owned a Private Hire Company in Bradford since 1992 and Ken had been a Private Hire Driver since 1983 so Robert has grown up with a good understanding of the taxi industry, Robert had worked as a Private Hire Driver for 4 years and had seen, heard of and had many problems whilst at work. A taxi driver is alone in a vehicle with up to 8 people, which puts drivers' lives at risk every day.

In early 2009 Robert had a vehicle damaged by a passenger who refused to pay a £5 fare due to having no money on him. He became aggressive and Robert asked him to exit the vehicle; as he got out he kicked the door shut. Robert drove away to avoid any further trouble or damage to himself. The door needed replacement as it was heavily dented, Robert couldn’t give a detailed description of the passenger as it all happened very fast and he’d never got a good look at the passenger as he got in. This meant Robert was unable to report the incident and the passenger got away with causing hundreds of pounds' worth of damage.

A taxi driver is very much on his/her own whilst working and can be surrounded by 4-8 people in an enclosed space. It could have easily been Robert who was the next victim and its not just the drivers who are at risk, the passengers need protecting too.

He decided that something needed to be done to make the industry safer and that became the inspiration for CabTure, by combining CCTV with advertising he was able to make Taxi & Private Hire Vehicles more secure and help boost the local economy by giving businesses a place to advertise to a captive audience.

Our aim is to make the taxi industry safer for everyone involved.
